Lock Kit for Spare Wheel for Style 5098 20″ wheels on Land Rover Defender L663 This is an updated version of our popular spare wheel lock kit. These lock kits are wheel style specific so please check this is the correct kit for your wheel style (see photo) – this kit is for the Style 5098 20″ wheel (see other listing for 22″ version). We engineered a lock kit after hearing the numerous reports of spare wheel thefts on the Defender. It seems just having the locking wheel nut is not proving secure enough, adding this lock kit will provide an extra layer of security and hopefully be more of a deterrent. The kit utilises a heavy duty concealed shackle padlock, and we have custom designed the other parts to specifically fit the Defender spare wheel. The plastic parts in the kit are all 3D printed in the UK, and the stainless steel plate is also manufactured locally in the UK. We have also included a push fit lock cover which will keep the weather off of the lock. Note: We include a sachet of copper grease and advise you grease the lock and pin. We also advise periodically checking and re-greasing the lock (once a year or so). This lock kit does not protrude past the tyre so it is compatible with the Defender spare wheel cover.
