Simple Rivet Nut Tool M6 for fitting Land Rover Freelander 2 Side steps/Bars If you want to fit side steps or bars to your Land Rover Freelander 2 then you need a rivet nut tool to complete the job. This is not a common tool and it is not supplied with the side step kits. This tool will allow you to fit M6 captive nuts into the chassis of your Freelander 2. You insert the tool and rivnut into the hole in your chassis and then turn the end nut which ‘pulls’ on the rivnut to compress it and tighten onto the chassis – leaving you with a captive nut. You’ll need a 14mm and an 18mm spanner to operate this tool. Note that there are no rivet nuts included with this tool. These are not genuine Land Rover parts. See below video.
